Insamlingsstiftelsen Sverige-Ukraina (ISSU) Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Zaporizhzhia Regional Hospital, Launches its First Medical Aid Shipment to Zaporizhzhia Region
Stockholm/Zaporizhzhia - The Sweden-Ukraine Foundation (Insamlingsstiftelsen Sverige-Ukraina) or known as ISSU has formalized its commitment to support Ukraine's healthcare system through a new strategic partnership with Zaporizhzhia Regional Hospital, marking a significant step in providing critical medical supplies to areas near the front lines.
The Memorandum of Understanding, signed on November 7, 2024, establishes a framework for ISSU to supply essential medical supplies to one of Ukraine's key medical facilities in Zaporizhzhia Region. Following the agreement, ISSU has already organized its first humanitarian shipment, which is currently en route to Ukraine.
"This partnership represents a crucial step in our mission to deliver targeted medical support where it's needed most in Ukraine," said Maryana Stober, Chairman of ISSU. "We are particularly grateful to our donors, whose unwavering support has made this initiative possible. Their commitment to humanitarian aid has been instrumental in launching this vital program that will help save lives in Ukraine."
The collaboration focuses on addressing specific local needs identified by hospital management, ensuring that aid is both targeted and effective. Zaporizhzhia Regional Hospital, operating close to the front lines, serves as a critical medical facility in the region.
About the Sweden-Ukraine Foundation (ISSU)
The Sweden-Ukraine Foundation (ISSU) is a Swedish charity organization which started as a grass route campaign in 2022 in response to the war in Ukraine and formally registered in 2023. ISSU specializes in delivering critical medical equipment and supporting healthcare infrastructure development across Ukraine. ISSU is the initiator together with the National Psychological Association (NPA) of the ”Say It!” project dedicated to sharing information and awareness about mental health issues from trauma.
Led by an international board of directors with expertise spanning corporate leadership and academia, ISSU works closely with Ukrainian partners to strengthen healthcare systems and support the country's reconstruction efforts.
